Welcome to the Paragould Rotary Club's website! The Paragould Rotary Club is an outstanding civic organization made up of men and women from all walks of life, representing numerous businesses and industries in Paragould and Greene County. It is a strong local group backed by an active district organization of clubs throughout Arkansas. More importantly, our club is a part of Rotary International which is a world wide organization making a positive impact around the world.
Rotary has been, and continues to be, instrumental in the world wide effort to eradicate polio and very involved in the health and nutrition conditions of children all over the world. Locally, our club is very active in trying to make our community a better place in which to live and work. Literacy has been a main focus over the past few years and will continue to be for the next twelve months. Our Rotarians have distributed a new dictionary to every third grade student in Greene County during the fall of the past two years. We also handed out a thesaurus to each fifth grade student in Greene County during the spring of the past year and will strive to maintain that annual event as well. Our projects and donations primarily are directed to the youth of Greene County.
Scholarships are awarded each year to graduating Seniors from area high schools. Donations are made to baseball and softball teams, soccer and swim teams, scouting, to send youths to special camps, and numerous other endeavors. If there is a worthy project or program that will benefit Paragould young people, our Rotarians will be involved.
Our weekly meetings (held at noon each Wednesday at the Paragould Country Club) are educational and informative, while also being upbeat and fun. It is a good place to network with other business leaders, as well as meet and talk with your friends and fellow Rotarians. All in all, it is a great local, national and international organization that does make a difference both locally and worldwide.
